Mark Rodriguez developed a passion for educating children while attending UCLA in Southern California. He thoroughly enjoyed his first five years of teaching in an elementary school, before becoming an elementary assistant principal in Lawndale, CA.

Alta Sierra has been the home for Mr. Rodriguez, his wife and two children for the last 12 years. He has devoted this time to working with middle school students -- the last nine years as principal of Magnolia Intermediate School, focusing his attention on creating and maintaining a challenging, well-rounded, and safe educational experience for all of the students.

Mr. Rodriguez is looking forward to the opportunity and privilege of serving the Alta Sierra community as principal of Alta Sierra Elementary School. "I am eager to continue making a positive difference in the lives of the children in our neighborhood school. It's going to be a great year to be an Alta Sierra Eagle!"
