Dear Parents of Third, Fourth and Fifth Grade Students,
Welcome to the Tutoring and Learning Club. The
State of California has sponsored this program to improve student achievement
and increase academic support through our after-school tutoring program

When:Monday and Wednesday from 2:00-3:00 P.M.
Where: Room 15
with Mrs. Baker
Since student participation in this program is dependent
upon parents furnishing transportation at 3:00 p.m., it is very important to
make transportation arrangements before the child arrives at school.
Be sure that you have communicated with your child’s
homeroom teacher that your child will be attending T.L.C. rather than taking
the bus or getting picked up at 2:00 p.m.Students will not be permitted to use the phone for the purpose of
arranging transportation.
Students will report to the appropriate classroom after
school.It is recommended that
each child bring a healthy snack, which may be eaten at the end of the day just
before T.L.C. begins.
During T.L.C., students will sign-in and be expected to
bring appropriate materials, a homework chart or assignment sheet with
assignments clearly listed, and be prepared to work.The supervising teacher will sign each homework chart or
assignment sheet to verify that the child has attended T.L.C.Parents will still be expected to sign
their own child’s homework chart or assignment sheet as usual.
The students will be walked to the upper parking lot just before 3:00.Students are expected to be picked up by a parent designee
by 3:00 p.m.This program is
available to students who arrive on time, demonstrate appropriate social and
study skills, and who are picked-up at 3:00 P.M.
Any student in grades 3, 4 or 5 who participates must have a
signed permission slip that has been returned to the T.L.C. teacher.No student will be allowed to stay
after school without parental consent.Please sign and return the attached permission slip if you would like
your child to attend T.L.C.
