1About Mr. McVicker

Born in San Rafael, California and raised in Europe (Italy and Holland) until the age of 10. Traveled extensively in Europe with family during those years. Father was an engineer with the Arabian-American Oil Company (ARAMCO). Relocated to California in September, 1959 and to Bombay, India, in 1964. Attended Woodstock School in Mussoorie, UR, India. Returned to California in 1966. Graduated from Redwood High School in Marin County in 1967. Met future Mrs. McVicker that summer! Graduated from UC Davis in 1971. Married and moved to Australia in 1971. Earned a Diploma of Education (Commonwealth teaching credential) in 1972 from the University of Tasmania and began teaching in Tasmania. Returned to California in 1979. Began teaching at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School in January, 1980. Received Master's Degree from CSU Sacramento in 1987. In 1999-2001 accepted position as the Distinguished Teacher in Residence at CSU Sacramento. Completed Ph.D. from UC Davis in 2005. (Note: I am a grandpa, and I expect  to be put out to pasture in 2010.)
