It is our hope that every student entering 6th grade feels welcomed and prepared for what to expect when they arrive at Magnolia Intermediate School. The following are designed to give parents and students the opportunity to get their questions answered and to get excited about going to middle school!
Parent Orientation at Magnolia
Principal Gene Morgan will share more about the sixth grade program and provide parents with the opportunity to ask questions about the program and activities. You will also have an opportunity to order your Magnolia T-shirts, check out Fun Clubs and see all the great stuff Magnolia has to offer. Parents & Teacher for Magnolia (PTM) will also be there to answer any questions you might have about parent!
Student Presentation by Mr. Rodriguez
6th grade alumnus from each school will accompany Mr. Rodriguez as he makes presentations at each of the elementary school sites during April – June, Dates TBA
Welcome Folders will be distributed to each student. These folders will include:
•A “getting to know you” page with information about the Principal, Vice Principal and School Secretaries.
•School Map, daily schedules, lunch process, snack bar info, locker info and suggested supply lists
•Clubs & Activities and After School Sports •Curriculum & Enrichment Courses offered
•PTM welcome letter and information
Welcome Tour and Posting of Class Lists
Students will be available the day before school starts to provide “scavenger hunt style” tours to new students as they come to check out who their teachers will be. Lists are typically posted at 4:00 pm the day before school begins.
First Day of School Coffee & Treats
Parents come and join us for a few minutes after you drop off your child. Principal Rodriguez will offer a welcome message and PTM representatives will be there to answer questions and help you explore opportunities to get involved.
